History: HMS Bounty, also known as HM Armed Vessel Bounty, was a small merchant vessel purchased by the Royal Navy for a botanical mission. HMS Bounty was originally named Bethia, built in Hull at the end of 1784.The Navy Board bought her on May 23, 1787, on the suggestion of Sir Joseph Banks, renamed her Bounty. June 8, 1787 was her first commission. She was 90 feet 10 inches long with a beam of 24 feet 4 inches and a draft of 11 feet 4 inches. She was sent to the Pacific Ocean to acquire breadfruit plants and transport them to British possessions in the West Indies under the command of William Bligh. That mission was never completed, due to a mutiny led by the acting Master, Fletcher Christian who sailed the ship to what is now called Bounty Bay and settled there. To prevent the ships detection, and anyones possible escape, the ship was burned on 23 January 1790. [ Package: weights: 45 lbs. 44 X 16 X 38 ] [contact for info.]

Also it is the Royal Danish Navys last big warship built from wood, and having a traditional sailing ship rigging as well as a steam engine, it is a perfect representative for the transition from sail to steam power. It took part in the battle of Helgoland in 1864, which was the first naval battle in history where two fleets engaged each other without the use of sails, but only used their steam engines during the entire battle. The ship is now beautifully restored and on permanent display at the picturesque small town of Ebeltoft situated on the peninsula of Jylland, which also gave name to the ship when she was launched from the Naval Yard in Copenhagen in 1860. Today the ship is a major tourist attraction and well worth a visit. [ Package: weights: 26 lbs. 42 X 14 X 32 ] [contact for info.]

History: On 27 March 1794, the United States Congress passed the Naval Act of 1794, which provided for building the US Navy its first new ships: the frigates Chesapeake, Congress, Constellation, Constitution, President, and United States. Constellation was the first to be commissioned. Constellation was built at Harris Creek Shipyard in Baltimores Fells Point and launched on 7 September 1797, just as the United States entered the Quasi-War with France. On 9 February 1799, under the command of Captain Thomas Truxtun, Constellation fought and captured the frigate LInsurgente of 36 guns, the fastest ship in the French Navy the first major victory by an American-designed and built warship. In February 1800 Constellation fought a night encounter with the frigate La Vengeance of 54 guns. Constellation was victorious after a five-hour battle. The French commander just managed to save his ship from capture and -upon returning to port- was so humiliated he later boasted that the American ship he had fought was a much larger and more powerful ship of the line. Since the encounter, the Constellations incredible speed and power inspired the French to nickname her the 'Yankee Racehorse'. [ Package: weights: 50 lbs. 39 X 16 X 44 ] [contact for info.]

Harvey
Harvey: [ Dimensions: Length 35 X width 8.3 X height 26 inches ] This is a high-quality, FULLY ASSEMBLED replica of the clipper that sailed out of the port of Galveston, Texas, in the mid-1800s. Master craftsmen using historical photographs, drawings or original plans meticulously handcraft these highly detailed wood models from scratch. They are built to scale with high-grade wood such as: western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany. They are 100% hand built individually using plank-on-frame construction method and are similar to the building of actual ships. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop. This beautiful Harvey model features: a varnished two tone colors wood on the hull, plank on frame, and two decks. The front bowsprit and three large masts are connected securely using advanced rigging and lines painstakingly knotted and fastened by hand. Each yard has an attached hand-stitched unfurled sails made of fine linen. Metal anchors and a wooden rudder are visible on the front and rear of the ship. On the deck, there are metal stationed cannons, wooden windlass, bell tower, and many other spectacular ornaments. This model comes standard with a solid wood base and brass nameplate. Itll make a perfect gift for home or office decorator, boat enthusiast or passionate collector.
History: The Harvey was built in 1847 in the state of Maryland. She was an able sailer working out of the port of Galveston Texas. At the turn out the Century she was making several voyages a year between Galveston and the ancient Jewish port of Jaffa which at the time was still under the Ottaman empire. Her main cargo was hemp used to make ropes for the rigging of ships. She exemplified this class of roving privateers, overtaking and capturing British merchantmen laden with cargo to support the British expeditionary forces then attempting to recapture the former colonies. She had a successful career, first as a warrior and then as a cargo carrier. She displaced about 225 tons, and had a length of 97 feet, a width of 25 feet and a depth of less than 11 feet. With the end of the war, transatlantic trade resumed, and the Baltimore clipper evolved over the next 30 years to take the form of larger cargo carrying packets. These had similar hull lines and were longer, slimmer, and faster than older merchant ships. [ Package: weights: 10 lbs. 36 X 12 X 28 ] [contact for info.]

History: The U.S.S. Constitution, a three-mast frigate, is the worlds oldest commissioned warship. Built primarily with dense southern live oak, its hull was 21 inches thick in an era when 18 inches was common. Paul Revere forged the copper spikes and bolts that held the planks in place. The 204-foot-long ship was first put to sea in 1798 and its most famous era of naval warfare was the War of 1812 against Britain, when it captured numerous merchant ships and defeated five warships, including the H.M.S. Guerriere. It was during the ferocious battle with the Guerriere that British seamen, astonished at how their cannonballs were bouncing off the Constitutions hull, cried out, 'Sir, Her sides are made from Iron!' Hence, the nickname, 'Old Ironsides'. The Constitution today is a national landmark and is currently docked in Boston. [ Package: weights: 33 lbs. 44 X 15 X 39 ] [contact for info.]
