Rainbow Rags and Brownie Bear

"I create artistic teddy bears out of many different materials. I sew vinyl, plush, felt, upholstery fabric, etc. I also sculpt bears, usually of Sculpty, an epoxy clay oven-cured. I made my first bear out of Sculpty in 1997, sewed my first bear in 1998 and have been hooked ever since.

All bears are hand made, as I do not use a machine. Each bear is one of a kind, and they each seam to have their own personality. Rainbow Rags seems to have a sweet look to her; and Brownie Bear has a look as if he was hungry for some honey! For every bear that I make, I can't wait to see what it's personality looks like. They have plastic eyes, and I am working on some glass eyed ones. I like to put buttons and hearts on my bears. I also like lace collars and scarves around their necks.

I do not have any favorite bears, I love them all equally. Brownie Bear and Rainbow Rags are two that melt my heart. They live with many other bears, some handmade, and some manufactured, if you check out my gift shop page you will see some other bears that I love, and there are other bears in my friend Chris Dixon's wildlife gallery, along with other cool stuff."
